Coiling is a basketry technique used by the Penans traditionally to produce the base of their carry basket, the ‘ajar’. Under the craft development programme at Long Lamai, the village artisans have extended the use of the coiling technique to produce artisanal plates and platters.
Winner of World Craft Council Award of Excellence for Handicraft 2016.
