GRETA CLUTCH - PINK

This unique clutch cum sling bag is woven with mengkuang kelarai. Hand-woven using mengkuang (South-East Asian screw pines: family Pandanaceae) this clutch is lovingly hand-woven by an elderly weaver in Terengganu. Kelarai is a fine weaving technique which has become increasingly rare. All of our kelarai pieces are our last pieces in stock, as the weaver is no longer weaving them.

Mengkuang leaves are harvested, dried, dyed, woven into fine mats first and then woven into these clutches. The clutches are finished with the hand-stitched tulang belut (eel spine) technique.  

Comes with a solid brass chain (and drawstring pouch) that you can sling around your shoulders - so you have both hands for wine-ing and dining!
