A Weaving Tale is a brand that aims to help promote Cambodian artisanal handmade products. Their products are made to last a lifetime because it was made with traditional techniques that was passed down from their mothers and grandmothers.
Baskets are made out of Seagrass from the coastal waters of Cambodia and handwoven by local artisans.
Process of Seagrass Weaving:
1. Seagrass is harvested, cleaned with fresh water and dried under the sun for 3 days straight.
2. It is shaped using a traditional method to flatten the seagrass with hand.
3. The seagrass is put in the mixture of boiling water and coloring to absorb the color.
Finally, it’s dried under the sun for 2-3 days before the weaving starts.
